While the park is open year-round, the best time to visit depends on the experience you’re looking for. January – March The park is lush and green following the short rains, making it an excellent time for birdwatching and photography. Wildlife is spread throughout the park, but sightings are still rewarding. Best for: Birdwatching, photography, green landscapes, and fewer visitors. April – May These months mark the long rainy season. Vegetation becomes dense, and some roads may be muddy. Wildlife disperses across the park, but the scenery is beautiful and visitor numbers are low. Best for: Budget safaris, peaceful game drives, and scenic photography. June – October This is the best time to visit Tarangire National Park. During the dry season, the Tarangire River becomes the main source of water, attracting thousands of animals from surrounding areas.
